What is the main purpose of dashboard?
The purpose of the dashboard is to provide the user with and overview of the status of sanitation services over time, as well as to provide the type of services which have been provided to households. The current indicators are:

- Types of Sanitation System

Data used to generate the information

What data is used?
The data is based on StatSSA census, community surveys as well as mid-year population estimates. Data for the 3 indicators as listed below are provided for each province, municipality and settlement in SA to represent sanitation services delivered.
Sanitation Services — Number of households served for the last 5 years and well as the number of households planned to be served in the next year.
Basic Sanitation Vs Backlog — Number of households served with basic Sanitation Vs Backlog.
Sanitation technology — Type of sanitation technology provided to households.

How is data extracted from the source?
The data is extracted with a stored procedure from WSKS to NIWIS. This is done on a monthly basis.
